Welcome to KURV
KURV launches NFT collections on Base and gives each one a place to be minted and traded. Every collection launched here has its own Vault, which buys pieces back from holders whenever it holds money, and can sell them again, even when no piece is out.
A few words first, in case they are new to you:
- An NFT is a piece of digital art with one owner at a time. Ownership is recorded on a public network, so anyone can check who holds it.
- A collection is a set of NFTs, each one a piece. It can be built from your layers, where KURV draws every piece by stacking one trait from each layer, or made from finished art you drew somewhere else.
- The network is Base, run by Coinbase. Writing to it costs a few cents. A creator can launch on Solana instead.
- Each collection has its own contract: the program on the network that records who owns each piece.
- Each collection is priced in one coin its creator picks at launch: USDC by default, or any other coin on Base. Every price on that collection is in that coin. USDC is a digital dollar: one USDC is worth one US dollar.
- Your wallet is your account on the network. It holds your coins and your pieces. KURV makes one for you when you log in.
Who it is for
Section titled “Who it is for”- Creators. You have artwork: layers to combine, or pieces you already finished. You want a collection with its own contract and its own Vault, a share of every mint, and a royalty on every sell-back, every Vault resale and every sale on KURV’s market, with no developer involved.
- Collectors. You want to mint pieces, look through a collection piece by piece, and set your own price when you sell.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Log in. Google, Apple, email, Base, X or Telegram. A wallet is made for you.
- Bring your layers or your finished art. One folder per layer, or one folder of finished pieces with a
metadata.jsonbeside it. On a phone, zip the folder and pick the ZIP. - Generate. From layers, KURV builds every piece from your layers and your rules, in your browser. Finished art goes straight to the preview, file for file.
- Publish and launch. KURV puts the files online and launches the collection on Base, with its own contract and its own Vault.
- Mint. The collection gets a public page. Each mint gives the buyer the next piece in line.
- Trade. Collectors list at their own prices and buy from each other. The creator’s royalty is paid on every sale on KURV’s market.
A collection already on Base, launched somewhere else, can join the market too: open Explore and press Bring a collection. See Explore and trade.
The Vault
Section titled “The Vault”Every collection launched on KURV has a Vault, and it can hold $0. Collections brought over from another launchpad have none and trade here at their own royalty, up to 10%. The creator decides how much of each mint goes into it, from nothing at all, and a Vault that opens at $0 is normal.
A Vault is a pool of the collection’s coin, held for that collection alone. A holder who wants out can sell a piece to the Vault instead of waiting for a buyer.
The Vault gets whatever mint money the creator leaves in it, plus 25% of every royalty paid in the collection’s own coin: every sale on KURV’s market, and royalties on other marketplaces paid in that coin once someone routes them. A royalty paid in any other coin sends the Vault’s quarter to the creator. It also gets every mint top-up and what its own resales bring after the creator’s and KURV’s royalty shares, and on every sell-back it keeps 10% of the backing and its 25% of the royalty. The Vault’s share of a trade counts towards Vault Backing and the Vault Exit once it is booked, at the next mint or Vault sale. A Vault holding $0 is a normal collection: selling back pays once money is booked into it. How much it pays depends on what the Vault holds and how many pieces share it.
Every piece is kept. When the Vault buys a piece back, the piece waits in the Vault’s inventory, and the Vault can sell it again, even when no piece is out. That sale pays the creator’s and KURV’s shares of the royalty, and everything else stays in the Vault. If every piece is sold back, the next paid piece restarts the collection at its Last Vault Backing, whether it is minted or bought from the Vault. A free piece cannot restart it, and what the Vault kept stays in it.
What the Vault would pay for a piece and what the piece sells for on the market are two different numbers. Neither is a promise. The Vault keeps them apart; read Risks and disclaimer before you buy anything.
