Publish your files

This page covers publishing: the step between making your collection and launching it. Publishing puts the images and labels online so the mint page and marketplaces can show them. You do it once, before you launch: after you generate, for a collection built from layers, or after the preview, for finished art.

Publishing is free. KURV handles the storage account and the keys, so there is nothing for you to set up.

  1. For a collection built from layers, KURV draws every piece at full size. Finished art is uploaded exactly as you gave it, file for file.
  2. The images go up to IPFS first. Then each piece’s labels file goes up: its name, its traits and a pointer to its image.
  3. KURV records the fingerprint of the whole build. That fingerprint goes on chain when you launch, so anyone can check the files against what was recorded before minting.
  4. When it is done, the app takes you to Launch.

IPFS is a public file network anyone can fetch from. A file stays available there only while someone keeps it pinned, which means paying a pinning service to hold a copy. KURV pins your files through its own account with Pinata, a pinning service.

A big collection takes a while. The card shows how far it has got.

Wait until the app confirms that artwork is saved on this device before closing the tab. Reopen the same project in the same browser and choose Resume publishing. Original files and the exact build are saved locally; a verified fully staged upload can continue without uploading its originals again. If saving fails, keep the tab open and retry after freeing browser storage. Older unverified checkpoints may require reimport and review.

Keep the exact build. A seed alone cannot prove that edited or swapped pieces match an older upload. Recovery on another device or after browser storage is cleared is not guaranteed.

Each piece is two files: the image and its labels file. The collection adds one more file for its name, description and cover.

So a collection of N pieces is 2N + 1 files. The labels files are small enough to leave out of the total. The sizes below assume the recommended 1000 × 1000 canvas, where a PNG runs about 400 KB. Finished art is the size of your own files, up to 20 MiB a piece.

Busier art makes bigger files; a larger canvas makes them bigger again. A 512 × 512 collection is roughly a quarter of these figures.

The Publish card reads current provider limits and your account’s remaining allowance from GET /api/publish. The daily allowance uses a rolling 24-hour window; it is not a universal 1,000-piece collection cap. For MCP finished art, read kurv_finished_art_limits before uploading. A collection must fit both its active provider limits and the account allowance.

If a collection will not fit in what your wallet has left today, the card tells you before you start, and the Publish button stays off.

Once a publish has started uploading, its pieces are held for it, so it can finish even if you resume later.
