How creators earn

This page is about your side of the money: what you choose at launch, and what each choice pays you afterwards. Fees has the same schedule from every angle; this one only follows your share.

Two numbers decide what you earn from a collection.

  1. Your mint share. You keep 0% to 100% of what is left after KURV’s 5% fee on each paid mint. The rest goes into the collection’s Vault. The price step of the launch asks for it as Your share of each mint, starting at 100%.
  2. Your royalty. 5% on every KURV collection, free collections included, on sales on KURV’s market, sell-backs and Vault resales; other marketplaces decide whether to pay it.

Both are fixed for the life of the collection once it is launched. You choose the mint share, so choose it carefully; the royalty is the same 5% on every collection.

Every collection launched on KURV has a Vault, and it can hold $0. Collections brought over from another launchpad have none and trade here at their own royalty, up to 10%. You decide how much of each mint goes into it, from nothing at all, and a Vault that opens at $0 is normal.

A larger mint share pays you more today and puts less into the Vault. A smaller one builds the Vault, which is what gives your holders somewhere to sell back to.

The Vault gets whatever mint money the creator leaves in it, plus 25% of every royalty paid in the collection’s own coin: every sale on KURV’s market, and royalties on other marketplaces paid in that coin once someone routes them. A royalty paid in any other coin sends the Vault’s quarter to the creator. It also gets every mint top-up and what its own resales bring after the creator’s and KURV’s royalty shares, and on every sell-back it keeps 10% of the backing and its 25% of the royalty. The Vault’s share of a trade counts towards Vault Backing and the Vault Exit once it is booked, at the next mint or Vault sale. Keep the whole 95% and the Vault opens at $0. A Vault showing $0 is a normal collection.

Whatever you choose, the Vault’s backing belongs to your collection’s pieces. Your earnings are your mint share and your half of the royalty, paid to you separately.

KURV takes 5% of the price. Your share comes out of the remaining 95%.

On a $100 mintYou getVaultKURV
0% share$0.00$95.00$5.00
25% share$23.75$71.25$5.00
50% share$47.50$47.50$5.00
100% share$95.00$0.00$5.00

Your share is a share of $95, not of $100: at 50% you get $47.50, not $50. Collectors see your share before they buy.

When the part of a phase’s price that reaches the Vault is below the Vault Backing per piece, the buyer adds a Vault top-up on top of the price. The top-up goes straight into the Vault, and your share and KURV’s 5% are worked on the phase price alone, so your cut of each mint stays the same. Fees works one through.

Your royalty is charged once on each sale settled through KURV, and you receive half of it. A quarter goes to the Vault and a quarter to KURV. On another marketplace, the royalty goes to the collection’s royalty router and reaches you only once someone routes it; KURV has no button for that. Routed, a royalty paid in any other coin than your collection’s goes 75% to you and 25% to KURV.

It applies to three things:

  • A sale between collectors. Worked on the sale price.
  • A sell-back to the Vault. Worked on the piece’s full backing, before anything is deducted.
  • A Vault resale. Worked on the resale price.

Gifts and plain transfers carry no royalty, because nothing was sold.

At the 5% royaltyYou get
A $100 sale between collectors$2.50
A sell-back of a piece carrying $100 of backing$2.50
A $100 Vault resale$2.50

The seller’s side differs in each case; Fees shows all four columns.

  • The free-mint service fee. $0.25 a piece, charged in the collection’s coin, goes to KURV. The person minting pays it. When a free piece is sold later, your royalty applies as normal.
  • A Vault top-up. All of it becomes Vault Backing.
  • The 10% the Vault keeps on a sell-back. It stays in the Vault, spread across the pieces still held.

Payments usually reach your payout wallet as each mint settles. If one could not be delivered, it waits in the collection and the Withdraw button on your dashboard sends it on, always to the collection’s payout wallet, never to whoever pressed the button.

KURV charges nothing a second time when you claim what you have already earned. Network costs are separate.
